Hey, wow, this is strip #70! Wow, how time flies right? You can remember seeing your first Outnumbered, probably just two weeks ago, right?
This one’s just mean. I know. Just love it, share it, and make people look at it, okay? Help me out here….its free!
That’s all I got. Thanks for stopping by. Hey, if you have questions for me, leave a comment and I’ll either answer them there or in the next blog post! God bless.

Love Ashley’s “AAAAAUUGH Look” in Panel Two!!!
Thank you Mordock999! Means a lot.
Same strip 2 weeks in a row ?!?!
When I uploaded THIS weeks strip, it copied it over Last weeks strip. Sorry. Its a weird thing that happens every now and then. ITs fixed, so check out last weeks strip now….
Dads are the best thing in their daughters’ lives. 🙂
Hey Tom, thanks for doing this strip. It really is great and the characters grow on me more with each panel. I’m the dad of four boys, so kind of the opposite problem in our family, where it’s my wife who is outnumbered, but the themes are very similar and the trials of bringing up the next generation I think is evergreen. You’re doing a good job at this. I think the need to be concerned over how good the gags are isn’t as important as hitting the right tone and mark. While all of them so far are funny, I find myself giggling less than I do going “Yep! That’s right! That’s how it really is!” The validation being somewhat better and more endearing than the satisfaction of a big laugh.
I found you through your Mouse Castle podcast with your brother Tony. That was a WONDERFUL interview and I loved hearing about your history with Disney. I really hope your continued work gets recognized and you find many more animated adventures to take your audience on.
Darin, thanks for these comments, they mean a lot to me. I will continue to make the strip less funny and more endearing. I promise. (Just kidding, I get what you are saying and I love hearing it.) Thanks again and good luck with the boys!
Thanks Tom. I have been a HUGE animation fan since I was a kid and my library of old tapes and recent DVDs sometimes makes my wife wonder about my mental age… 😉 That said, I was already aware of you and your brother because I’m enough of an animation geek to read credits, but hearing your story on the podcast was SO great! The “level of appreciation meter” spiked on that. Having it lead me to your current work like this comic was just icing on the cake, because once one finds an artist they appreciate, it is nice to continue to follow their work. I’m an artist myself but always in the line of work and rarely is it ever just for its own sake, so when I get to see other’s passion pieces, I take special note.
Darin, thanks for that. I get that way with artists I love/appreciate. I read all their stuff, look for behind the scenes videos, all their artwork online, etc. Its like a side hobby that feeds into my main one: comics geek. And don’t worry, all cartoonists are “kid minded”. My teen kids were so embarrassed that I was going to see the “Lego Movie” by myself because none of them wanted to go. Glad you found me here.
Hi Tom,
I am so happy that your doing this in whatever spare time you have. As an animator, its great to see this type of style for web comics, (as well as the commentary). You are very talented and I look forward reading “Outnumbered” on a regular basis. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks for that Darryl. I appreciate it. “Whatever spare time” are the key words, aren’t they? I really enjoy creating Outnumbered and I’m not slowing down anytime soon!
I recall from your Deviantart post in regards to Noah Bradley’s “Don’t Go To School” () that you ‘will be announcing an online art “School” that will feature not just lessons by yourself but also by many of your PRO artist friends in all forms of artistic media.’ Is the “school” up yet? Do you have the link?
It IS and thanks for asking. Its at . There are about 8 lessons up right now (three by me and the rest by other pros) with another from me coming this week or next. Check out the Pro Instructors who will be doing upcoming lessons. Its gonna be exciting!
One more question: I’ve must’ve missed most of your comics, so are there any strips with obscure 80’s references the Dad makes that the kids don’t get?
Not yet, but that’s a great idea. I’m a huge 80s music fan, so its a good idea!
