After Monday’s “awwww” strip with “cute dad”, I thought I’d show the other side of fatherhood. The “tough dad” act can be hard for some of us.
Hey, I’m always trying to make this strip better, so if you have any suggestions for OUTNUMBERED or this bare-bones website- let me know. Tell a friend about it too! Thanks for the help everyone. Best, Tom B.

one tough dad! (awesome comic ^^)
Hahah! This reminds me of when my Mom would show my boyfriends my Father’s awards for accuracy with a riffle! My Dad’s on bomb and swat for our city so the guys would usually be intimidated but it wasn’t my Father they had to worry about!
What I want to know is when did Alex become a girl’s name? The only Alex’ among my daughters friends are all girls, too. What’s up with that?
— Alex (a guy) Johnson
I hear ya. My oldest daughter’s name is Alexis, which can be shortened to Alex, though we never did.
Funny story. My eldest is Allie – short for Kathyrn Alexandra.
One day, at the kitchen table, she was reading People, the news magazine for the intellectual sort, and started slamming Jamie Lynn Spears because her parents named her after themselves and she was, therefore, of low social status if you know what I mean.
I looked at her and said, “What is your name?” “Allie,” she replied. I said, “What’s your real name?” She paused, “Uh, Kathryn Alexandra.” Mom, Dad, and middle sister started laughing.
Did I mention that Kathy (Katherine) is my wife (her mother) and I’m Alex (Alexander), her dad? 🙂
Awesome Comic Tom! I love your work on books. I wish you much success with this, I want to see it in the Sunday Paper Soon
Hey, Tom! I just recently stumbled on your strip and absolutely love it…have gone to the beginning and read to current…keep the good laughs coming!
If you ever need help with your WordPress, let me know!
Hahaha! Is this really how a dad feels in these moments? 🙂
You bet! 80% of these strips are real situations (pushed a little further than what really happened) or how I see life!
